Find out how to use Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond's Find a Practitioner search box to locate a pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding or parenting specialist near you.

How do I search for a specific type of practitioner, for example a midwife?

Here are three easy steps:

1.    Click the ‘Select a type of practitioner’ drop down box and click ‘Midwives’.
 

2.    Enter either your suburb or postcode in the specified field. You will be offered a drop down box from which to verify your exact suburb.

3.    Click the search button.

Can I search for all practitioners in my area?

Yes. Simply enter your suburb or postcode, select the exact suburb from the drop down box, and click the search button. This search will show all practitioners within a 15km radius of your location.

My search didn’t show any practitioners near me, how can I find my nearest practitioners?

The easiest thing to do is to widen your search. In the search box you will notice a field to ‘Enter desired search radius (enter distance in kilometres)’. The search radius default distance is 15 km. You can change this radius to any distance up to 999kms. You can also delete the number out of this box to receive a listing of all practitioners within Australia.

Can I search by practitioner or business name?

Yes. Enter the practitioner’s name or business name in the ‘Business or practitioner name’ field and click search. Do not need to fill in any other fields. This will reveal any listing matching the name entered. If you type ‘Jane’ – all practitioner and business names containing ‘Jane’ will appear in the search. Exact spelling and punctuation must be used.  You can search using shortened forms. For example entering ‘Jan’ will reveal all practitioner and business names containing ‘Jan’, ‘Jane,’ ‘Jayne’ or any other extension of ‘Jan’.
