Pregnancy massage is a perfect way to reduce stress and promote general well-being during pregnancy. The Copeland Massage Therapy Clinic team are highly skilled practitioners in pregnancy massage, guided by Catherine McInerney, Australia’s leading expert and educator in pregnancy massage, and founder of Pregnancy Massage Australia. Assistance and education is also offered to partners so that they may provide positive support during labour.
In preparation for labour the mother and partner attend one-on-one guided massage techniques classes which will aid in providing comfort for the labouring mother, and ease pain. A focus on relaxation techniques and visualisations create a sense of close connection between mother, partner and baby. These personalised sessions create a safe environment to experiment with various massage techniques and provide the partner with the opportunity to play a more active, supporting role in the labour.
Massage can be used during birth to make it easier and more comfortable for the mother. We can assist with partner training for birth support, focussing on specialised techniques connecting mother, partner and baby.
