Homebirth and Doulas
Did you/Will you have a labor doula present at your planned homebirth? What led to your decision?
I personally had a doula at my first homebirth and do not regret the decision for a minute. She was able to provide a special kind of support, particularly right after birth and during transition, that I did not get from my husband or midwife. I have also attended many homebirths as a doula myself. Though it is far different from hospital birth, I do think that women can still benefit positively from the supportive nature of doulas during non-hospital birth.
What are your thoughts fellow homebirth mamas?

I think having a doula present if you don't have an extra support person is a great idea. A doulas support particularly after the birth in packing up everything and returning the house back to normal is invaluable. I did have a doula for my third labour - she was a close friend and a wonderful emotional support.
