Diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and have Placenta Praevia- to exercise?
Was told this morning at the appointment with the midwife that I have GDM and a low lying placenta.
My GDM will be initially controlled with diet and will be seeing a Nurse next week.
Will be going for a scan at 32 weeks to check how low my placenta is.
I really want to re-join my gym and do light exercise everyday, even walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I'm more motivated in a gym. But is it safe to do so?
I am 27 weeks pregnant.

HI Lorraine - I am sorry about the delay in replying to your post. You will need to speak to your midwife about your individual situation and whether or not exercise is appropriate and safe.
In general exercise is recommended for women with gestational diabetes.
Regarding low lying placentas - it will depend on how close to the cervix the placenta is.

Thank you for your post.
As aussiemidwife says, you do need to ask your own midwife about whether exercise is safe in your particular case. You may find this article on Can I Exercise with Placenta Pravia useful.
Wishing you a comfortable pregnancy,
