    dont know what to do?

    hi im danielle,im now 16wks pregnant and ive still not had any blood tests? i have had my 12week scan they said baby looks fine,i saw my midwife today mentioned that i have still not had any blood tests or injections she didnt seem that bothered.is it important to have your bloods tested or not?? does anyone know please?x

    Hi Danielle,

    Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your pregnancy.

    It is recommended to have the antenatal blood tests carried out during pregnancy. The blood tests include: finding out your blood group (in the unlikely instance that you need a blood transfusion), checking your Rhesus factor (this is important), checking your iron levels (anemia is common in pregnancy), checking you are immune to Rubella and seeing if you are a carrier of the hepatitis B virus. These are generally first tested at your first antenatal appointment. I would get in contact with your midwife again and ask when the blood tests can be performed.
