What is the best way to get rid of the extra baby weight?

Breastfeeding is one way to regain your figure. Breastfeeding causes the uterus to contract and so reduce to its pre-pregnancy size quicker. Breastfeeding also uses around 500 calories a day (this value is believed to be the same whether you are feeding a new baby or a toddler) so can this helps a woman to lose her pregnancy weight.
One point to bear in mind is that in the 9 months of pregnancy our bodies change in extraordinary ways to accommodate and nourish our growing baby. It takes around 18 months for a woman's body to fully recover from pregnancy and birth. Therefore, it is worth being gentle with yourself and not expecting your body to return to its pre-pregnancy ways immediately. Indeed, post-pregnancy and post-birth bodies are beautiful; they show the marks of bringing a child into the world.
As always, eating healthily and exercising regularly is key in maintaining a good weight.
