Brushing baby's teeth
At what age can I start to teach my baby how to brush her teeth and how do I avoid her from swallowing the toothpaste?

You should start brushing your baby's teeth and gums as soon as you see any teeth coming through. 6 months is the average age to start teething, although up to 12 months of age is considered normal.
It is fine if they swallow some of the toothpaste; dentists recommend you allow this to happen rather then trying to get a baby or toddler to spit it out because the fluoride can actually help with bone development.
In terms of your child cleaning their own teeth, this is not recommended until they are aged 6/7.
