    Dear gelizaire,

This is an interesting question - thank you.

Babies need to be in the sunlight for around 15 minutes each day in order to help with vitamin D production. However, this should not be in the heat of the day or when they could be at any risk from sunburn. This is why the morning time is often recommended for this activity.

The rest of the day it is best to keep your baby out of direct sunlight (in the shade or inside). Most suncreams can be used from 6 months of age because before this age a baby should not be spending more than the 15 minutes per day in the sun.

    Does this answer your question?

    Warm wishes,
    LJ
