    Irregular period

Can irregular period be a sign of infertility?

    Dear Haven,

It can be but some very fertile women do have irregular periods.

When you say that your periods are irregular - could you describe this in more detail?

PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) can cause infertility and is associated with: irregular periods, weight gain, additional hair and sometimes skin problems like acne too. The good news is that (with proper management) most women who have PCOS do go on to successfully conceive.

    Warm wishes,
    LJ

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.
My period gets delayed for a few months which sometimes makes a false hope of being pregnant.

I did gain weight too but I never had problems with my skin and additional hair.

    Hi Haven,
I am currently asking my self if I am too. I have the same problem, sometimes I skip for 3 months (in a stretch). I question myself that I don't ovulate regularly but I feel as though I am fertile and have the signs when I am.
