    Choosing prenatal vitamins

    Hi everyone,
I recently bought some prenatal vitamins that made me feel a bit nauseous so I was wondering if there is a way to choose what brand might be best to take? I would love to know which ones you took during your pregnancy.

    Hello,

The current recommendation is to take:

    - 10 micrograms of vitamin D every day of your pregnancy and when breastfeeding
    - 400 micrograms of folic acid every day – from a month before you are pregnant at least until you are 12 weeks pregnant (however there are benefits to continuing to take it throughout the second and third trimester)

As you know, these can be combined in one supplement tablet. If others have been making you feel sick then you may find one that only contains these is best for you.

Are you suffering from morning sickness generally anyway?

    With warm wishes,
    LJ

Thanks a lot. No, I don't normally have morning sickness it was just that one time. Thanks for replying.

I see. Yes do try swapping your prenatal vitamin then. Remember that eating a healthy balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables is equally as important.

Wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy,
    LJ
