diet and sex of the baby

Does it exist a method to select female or male babies? I've heard about
a method based on a diet. Can it be true and really working?

    Hello,

thank you for your reply. I've heard about a diet to select the sex of the baby by a friend of mine, whose doctor gave to him and to his wife a diet for trying to have a boy. I don't know if this is published somewhere or not. Basically, the diet was aimed to change the pH of the sperm and of the woman's environment in such a way to select spermatozoa bringing the male gene. I don't remember now if the pH had to be higher or lower.
I don't know if this method has strong scientific bases. Finally they had a boy (but this can be happen always with a 50% of probability..). I found it interesting, and, most of all, very simple and not invasive!
    Kind regards,
    Elisabetta
