    Postpartum depression?

Is postpartum affected by an existing history of depression? Does this make you more likely to experience it?

    Campbell,

A woman's previous history of depression is a risk factor for postpartum depression. The answer to your question is YES.
Many women are diagnosised with postpartum depression after the delivery of their new born.

Some may have the "baby blues" and others can have a more serious case of depression in which the medical community calls "postpartum depression".

I do highly suggest that if any mum feels that she is having the blues to seek out advice from her midwife or doctor.
Here is a good article explaining postpartum depression and the baby blues.

Thank you very much for answering my question. I could not get your link to work but it helped me in finding new sources of material about postpartum depression.
