When to introduce cows milk?
Hello,
I stopped breastfeeding my daughter at about four months, and she is using formula milk. I am just wondering when I can take her off of the formula and give her regular milk.

I was a licensed child care provider for 6 years, and we would transition children from formula to cow milk around 12 months of age. Sometimes parents wanted to transition to a formula for older children and sometimes, if a child was transitioning from breast milk to "regular" milk, we would transition the child to goat milk because it's much easier to digest. But in general, going from formula to cow milk happened at 1 year of age.

I agree with Kate - the general recommendation is to move to straight cows milk is 12 months old. Follow on formulas are a money making exercise by the formula companies. There are no proven health benefits with follow on formulas.
