    Question Toilet Training -- Accidents

My boys have been toilet trained since they were 3 years old (they will be 5 in a couple of months). They still only occasionally stay dry during naps and at night and I know as they get bigger this won't be an issuse. During the day one of my boys still has accidents almost daily. He doesn't full on wet his pants but he'll be playing and all of a sudden he'll say "I've got to go to the bathroom." He does but then his underpants are wet. I know this is just because he waits until the very last minute to actually go and use the toilet but I am starting to grow concerned as they will be entering school all day next year and I don't want him to have accidents there. He stays dry at preschool now but that is only 3 hrs a day.

I don't want to make him feel embarrased or bad about it and I have tried to talk to him about listening to the signals his body is sending but he still has these tiny accidents. Any advice? Should I bribe him? I was trying to avoid that but I'm getting desperate.

    Thanks!

I think they just grow out of it. I am not sure there is anything you can do. You can talk to them about understanding the signs, but this is a pretty common issue.

Thanks! I was thinking the same thing but it doesn't seem like any of the other kids in his class have this issue on an ongoing basis. It happens almost daily to him and rarely his brother but as I explained, he does wait until the very last minute to go which has to be the biggest part of the issue. We'll contiune with the "listening to our body" talks I guess
