Hyperemesis in pregnancy
This is a question posted on www.pregnancy.com.au by Emelia.
Hello Jane - thanks for the interesting article. I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my second child. I suffered with hyperemesis for 7 months the first time around and am feeling awful again. I ended up on Zofran last time as Maxalon does nothing for me. I have been taking Zofran again for a couple of days now, but without the same relief as before. I feel constantly hungover despite my frequent snacking and large fluid intake. Can raspberry leaf tea be taken with Zofran, and can you suggest anything else beyond snacks and ginger? Many thanksCan you offer Emelia any suggestions?

Strategies for hyperemesis
Emelia some strategies include:
- Acupucture - you can read about an article here
- Hypnotherapy
- Visiting a naturopath for a consultation or advise
- Ginger and B6 - such as in Blackmores Morning Sickness formula
- Sea sickness bands
- Eat protein often - try snacks of nuts, eggs, beans and meat
- Limit caffiene (it can make symptoms worse)
- Homeopathic remedies
- Eat before you get out of bed in the morning
I hope this helpsHidden Content aussiemidwife
