39 weeks and no signs of labour

This question posted on the websites overdue page - I thought it would be better answered here on the forum. It would be great if you could offer Sania some advise...

Hi jane, i am 39 week 3 days, and i am still not feeling anything if the baby is coming. no braxton hicks, occasionally i feel period like pain for short duration then it goes away, it is my first baby, and i m bit worried.

Hi Sania

It is always difficult as you approach the time your baby will be born - to know when it will happen. Just so you know that you may not get any clues that labour is going to start until it actually does. Sometimes the first sign of labour is regular contractions. So take heart that your body is probably going to let you know very soon that it is your baby's birthday.
