The Herbal Medicine Cabinet
Let's build a resource for individuals interested in creating their own herbal healing medicine cabinet for home.
Here are some examples to get us started:
Fever Reduction- A few drops of peppermint and lemon oil applied to the bottom of the feet will reduce most fevers. For delicate skin, these drops should be added to a carrier oil such as coconut, almond, or olive oil.
Headaches- A bit of lavender applied to the temples can help to reduce some headaches, particularly those related to stress. Peppermint also helps with headaches.
Congestion- Eucalyptus oil is great for congestion. It can be applied to the chest (just a few drops in a carrier oil mix) or placed in a diffuser. It is particularly potent when combined with steam.
What are your favorite essential oils or herbs for home remedies?

Olive Leaf Extract
Hi all,
Personally I am a big fan of Olive Leaf Extract. I first encountered it when my daughter's Paediatrician recommended it. Olive Leaf Extract is useful in:
- Protecting the body from viruses, bacteria or retroviruses and curing colds, flues and pneumonias
- Improving circulation
- Aiding as a diuretic and digestive aid
- Decreasing the effects of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome by increasing energy and overall well being

Hi joshturner
I agree with you that herbal medication can be great but we must keep in mind that these medications, like any other, can have side effects. For instance there are certain herbal medications not recommended in pregnancy. It is always best to seek the assistance of a skilled professional before taking herbal medications, at least for the first time you use a particular herbal medication to treat a particular aliment, in a particular context.
