 The
Midwifery Resource and Support Group
Our second Midwifery Resource and Support group is planned
for the 2nd of December 08. Everybody is welcome. This group came
into being after the recent Midwives' Academy and Midwifery Retreat
at Katoomba. With lack of support for midwives and student midwives
it was felt that a group that offers support in a safe environment
is badly needed. The group is also aimed to help foster the
expansion of midwifery skills and knowledge The group will be
facilitated by Independent Midwives Jane Palmer and Robyn Dempsey.
Our first get together was a fantastic night attended by women
planning to start midwifery, student midwives and midwives working
independently and in the hospital system. The theme for our next
meeting is "When is a transfer from home to hospital required?
