How time flies, you have just under four months of your pregnancy left to go, and if you have been taking bump photos along the way, you will start to see a noticeable difference. You’ll be feeling the baby kick by now and perhaps even seeing these kicks from the outside.
How is Your Baby Growing when 23 Weeks Pregnant?
Your baby is now 20cm long from head to bottom and weighs about 540gm. Their lungs have started to produce surfactant, a substance that helps the lungs stay inflated after they are born. They can also recognise light and sound. Encourage your partner to start the bonding process with your baby by talking to them through your belly. Talking to your baby is an intimate moment you can share with your partner or support person.
What You May Feel
Have you ever heard of pregnancy brain? However, what you may not know is that it is a genuine symptom. Pregnancy brain is due to several factors, including a lack of sleep and energy, stress and anxiety, and actual physical changes in your brain. This forgetfulness is commonplace, although you may find it frustrating. However, the good news is that it is temporary, so make sure you are kind to yourself, eat well and get plenty of rest.
Tips when you are 23 Weeks Pregnant
Before the end of pregnancy, when you may be too tired, it is now a great time to think about some things you can’t do once the baby arrives. For example, going to the movies, dinner dates visiting friends or trips away. See if you can arrange some of these activities with your partner and make the most of these last baby-free weeks.
