In my pregnancies, I love to watch videos that highlight the pregnancy journey. I find being pregnant is an extraordinary experience. Having a new life develop within my body – ahh nothing can compare. In other words, the excitement of being pregnant, feeling the growing baby within my body and looking forward to meeting my new baby.
First Pregnancy – Breech Birth
While pregnancy has its ups and downs, it can be so overwhelmingly positive. Pregnancy is different for every woman, and for every woman, every pregnancy can be different. Each is unique For me, this was very much the case. My first pregnancy was straightforward until I discovered the baby was breech, resulting in a birth five weeks early with a footling breech (you can read Joshua’s birth story here).
Second Pregnancy – Waterbirth with an Unexpected Outcome
For my next pregnancy, I planned carefully to avoid the negatives of my previous experience. Choosing the right care provider and place of birth was paramount to me for achieving a positive pregnancy and birth experience. This time around, I had an uneventful pregnancy with a head-down baby. Jarred was born at home, surrounded by my incredible support team. However, even with the best-laid plans – the unexpected can happen! Read Jarred’s birth story for more details.
Third Pregnancy – Home Waterbirth
Is third time lucky? Pregnancy was challenging this time with quite debilitating pelvic girdle pain. Even with lots of discomforts, I still treasure every moment of my pregnancy. Consequently, I had a second home waterbirth followed with the excitement of having a baby girl. Lia’s birth story is here.
