Now that you are in your second trimester and starting to feel a little better, it’s a great time to add a little exercise into your routine. Exercise offers many benefits, including:
- improved mood and energy levels
- better fitness and sleep
- less chance of developing gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia
- increased likelihood of a normal birth
Exercise doesn’t have to be strenuous. For example, a simple walk each day is enough for you to enjoy these benefits. A pregnancy yoga class is a great option. However, now is not the time to enjoy a new fitness craze or take up a new sport.

How your baby is growing when 14 Weeks Pregnant?
Your baby is now about 8.5cm long and weighs about 45gm. Their face now has more clearly defined features. Plus, your baby’s reflexes are beginning to work, which means they may react to your touch.
What You May Feel
Hopefully, your energy levels are increasing at this stage of your pregnancy. This extra vitality may help lighten your mood, and you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy a little more. Your bump is becoming more noticeable, and some women, typically if they have been pregnant before, start to feel kicks from as early as 14 weeks. At this stage, they may feel like little flutters inside your tummy called quickening, but you can’t feel them from the outside. It may even leave you questioning whether they are kicks or gas! If it’s your first baby, these kicks generally begin much later. Your breasts also start to make colostrum, but you won’t yet notice it.
Tips when you are 14 Weeks Pregnant
Week 14 can be one of the most comfortable and energetic times of pregnancy for some women, so be sure to utilise it if possible. If you are planning a nursery, shopping for baby products, or setting up a home, take advantage of this “grace” period to tick off things from your to-do list. As you enter the later stages of pregnancy, you may not have as much energy or feel physically able to accomplish these tasks.
