By now, you have likely set an end date for work and be on countdown until you leave. Your baby now measures about 27.5cm from head to bottom and weighs around 1.5kg. Their brain develops rapidly at this stage, making lots of connections and sending lots of signals. They are also aware of the sounds around them, and loud noises can even startle them inside your uterus.

What You May Feel

Heartburn can worsen as pregnancy continues, and there is an old wives’ tale that if you have bad heartburn, it means your baby has a lot of hair! While amusing, there is no truth in it, Heartburn can be uncomfortable, especially at night time when you lie down to sleep. Eating smaller meals to ease the pain can help, and some over the counter remedies may ease the discomfort. However, always check with your midwife or doctor before taking anything.
