Life as a midwife is a nine-year-old girls perspective on midwifery. Lia’s mum is a midwife and she shares a poem about midwives.
Lia’s Words about the life as a midwife
I don’t know how it feels to be a midwife but they can see extraordinary things such as breech birth and the joy that only the birth of a baby brings.
Midwives give up their time which sometimes can be their sleep time to make sure you and your baby are healthy and happy and also to make sure your baby comes out safely.
I know that as a nine-year-old girl that my mum, does not always spend as much time with me as I would like because she is out helping a woman give birth to their baby or babies or on a postnatal visit.
Midwives make sure it is a good environment for you to have your baby or babies and that you are comfortable.
When I grow up I want to be a midwife because I want to see the smile of a woman that has just given birth to a child and to see the happiness that the baby brings.
A Poem About Midwives
Midwives bring sunshine to brighten your days.
Midwives bring joy through their ways.
Midwives are a gift from above,
such special treasures to love.
